Trained as a painter, he occasionally illustrated books and periodicals. He worked for the Bataclan from 1914 to 1922, then for the Folies Bergère from 1923 to 1936 as well as for La Scala in Milan. After the war, it is said he lost his style and devoted himself to illustrating erotic editions.
