Ladislas Czettel was a student of Bakst and collaborator of Poiret. He worked for several European theatres as well as the Folies Bergère and the Palace. His specialty was creating costumes in 3 minutes directly on the models. At the onset of the war he left for the USA where he worked for MGM, the Metropolitan Opera, Broadway theatres and the Barnum circuses.
