Endré, of Russian mother and Italian father, arrived in Paris after the Soviet revolution. He then worked for the Folies Bergère and a few other theatres. The family fortune having been destroyed by the Wall Street crash, he had to lead a somewhat adventurous life afterwards. He taught various spiritual disciplines in Milan, Mexico and then Los Angeles where he became a guru and created his own school.
