The Paris of the Roaring Twenties
The Interwar Years 1920-1940
As Joséphine Baker so beautifully sang: "J'ai deux amours, mon pays et Paris" — at that time, one could only love the Paris of the interwar years. A city of many facets, Paris was the beacon of the Roaring Twenties, the world's epicentre of fashion, art and entertainment.
This 1930s Paris may seem quaint, yet how people enjoyed themselves! The city bustled with activity — economic, cultural and sporting. In a carefree atmosphere, bordering on insouciance, people lived life to the full. They forgot the last war, and the next one had not yet appeared on the horizon.
